Ted Esser, Ph.D. has taught at Sofia University (previously the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology) for over ten years. He is an Assistant Editor at the International Journal of Transpersonal Studies. His doctoral research from, Lucid Dreaming, Kundalini, the Divine, and Nonduality: A Transpersonal Narrative Study (2013) can be found here. He has been a spiritual counselor and the Director of Operations for the Spiritual Emergence Network (founded by Christina & Stan Grof in 1980) for over fifteen years. He served on the Board of Directors of the Grof Foundation. He has had training and experience with several spiritual traditions with a special interest in the place where secular mysticism, global esoteric syncretism, and transpersonal/integral philosophy meet. Previously, he worked in public and educational television for 7 years, producing the Midnight Theatre series for KCTS 9 in Seattle, WA. He has six children and lives in San Diego, CA.
