Harris is a retired Research Professor of Psychology at University of Florida, and supervises doctoral dissertations at several universities. He is Senior Editor of the International Journal of Transpersonal Studies and Associate Editor of the Humanistic Psychologist, has published more than 300 scholarly papers and books, and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Association of Psychological Science. His PhD is in clinical psychology with a concentration in transpersonal psychology. He is past President of both the International Transpersonal Association and the Association for Transpersonal Psychology. He also practices clinical psychology and organizational consulting.
