I grew up in a military family and lived in several countries in Asia as a teenager which awakened my interest in Chinese and Japanese martial arts and Eastern philosophies. I have lived in Japan and made many trips to study Aikido in the past 4 decades. I became an Aikido instructor in 1978 teaching all over the Bay Area, California, including De Anza College, Hayward State and San Jose State College as well as the YMCA, Recreation Centers, Gyms, Fitness Clubs and a private middle school in San Francisco. In 1991, I began teaching Aikido at ITP in the PhD program with Professor and Sensei Robert Frager. From 1991 to the present I have been main Aikido teacher for the Masters program.
As long as I can remember I have been interested in human nature and what makes us tick which lead me to study the Enneagram System of Personality and Vedic Astrology.
I am a practicing Vedic Astrologer and teacher having made 6 visits To India for extended stays to study Yogic and Vedic arts. My specialty is the understanding of personality, life purpose, what are our innate strengths and weaknesses to name a few areas the lens Vedic Astrology can focus on.
I am also a certified Enneagram teacher and have taught Enneagram combined with Aikido at ITP in 1999 and 2000 and again with my husband, Jack, at Sofia U, where we taught a course for Master’s Program in 2014. Together we have an online magazine called the “Enneagram Monthly” that Jack created and has sustained since 1995.
